She had a guess.
It could have been right.
And it was.
Though awkward,
She found a trend.
One that had to be followed.
A special session left aside.
She slipped quietly into a routine.
She slipped quietly into faith.
The sight of this.
Was enough for her to smile.
She found that this little thing,
So small,
Fit in her heart so perfectly.
Fit in her life so perfectly.
Oh no, it was not that.
Just perhaps a little affection.
She thought.
She convinced herself.
It began to swell and to grow in her.
It felt comfortable.
Like a warm blanket on a cold winter's day.
It made her feel entire.
Then out of the blue.
It popped out.
She realised.
That it held such meaning.
What was it?
Had it not been nothingness?
The warm blanket had been thrown back.
She felt exposed, so cold.
It was not an aching hole.
Just one that all holes were.
Empty.
The person.
